Professional Driving Instructors Association

November 24th, 2023

The Professional Driving Instructors Association (PDIA) has recently been formed to represent driving instructors in Ireland in talks with the RSA, government and in the media. Also to campaign for common sense improvements to road safety.

The Professional Driving Instructors Association is the only active and independent group representing Approved Driving Instructors in Ireland. The PDIA is a not for profit Company Limited by Guarantee. That is to say any money left over after the running costs of the association will go back to supporting the driving instructors that form the membership. As well as to worthwhile road safety causes. Founded by directors Dominic Brophy and Darragh Dunne. Along with the help of board members Laura Broxson, James Mooney, Rita Kennedy, Albert Mulligan and Brian Hewitt.  All of whom have over one hundred years of experience as driving instructors between them.

The founders were involved with previous representative bodies for driving instructors that lacked independence. Accordingly yhey have been in government building to have talk with the Oireachtas Transport Committee. In addition to being in regular communication with the Road Safety Authority.

You can find a list of Professional Driving Instructors on the Find a Professional Driving Instructor page. RSA Approved Driving Instructors on this list are passionate about road safety and the learning to drive process.
