Consultation on Medical Fitness to Drive
February 9th, 2015
You may be aware that the Road Safety Authority (RSA) together with the National Programme Office for Traffic Medicine today launched a public consultation on Medical Fitness to Drive (MFTD) Off-Road and On-Road Assessment Guidelines. These Guidelines aim to inform the public and assist the many professionals and stakeholders involved in MFTD assessments to clarify the roles and pathways that are available to support medical fitness to drive decisions.
This consultation allows individuals and associations to give feedback on the draft standards for MFTD Off-Road and On-Road Assessment Guidelines. These Guidelines will in the future be published and implemented to support the delivery of consistent MFTD assessments and support complex cases where multiple professionals and services may be involved.
To view the draft guidelines and supporting consultation documents please follow the following link http://www.rsa.ie/en/Utility/Consultations/Driver-Testing-and-Licensing/MFTD-Consultation/. Please note this consultation is open until Thursday 12 March 2015.
Although you are members of the Working and Subgroup Groups, we still very much welcome your contribution and the contributions of your Colleges and or organisations through this consultation process and thank you in advance for your time. Should you require further assistance or information beyond what is provided at the above link please do not hesitate to contact us at ordaconsultation@rsa.ie
